The Lucky Patial gang, an affiliate of the Davinder Bambiha syndicate, claims responsibility shortly after the attack of a realtor, brutally murdered outside a gym in Sector 9 today. The gang's social media post, allegedly authored by Lucky Patial (alias Gaurav Patial), cited two motives for targeting Charanpreet Singh (alias Chini Kubaheri).
They accused him of acting as an informant, passing sensitive information to rival gangs, and warned of action against anyone assisting their enemies. Additionally, Patial claimed Singh was involved in the January 28, 2026, murder of Gurvinder Singh (alias Guri), an undertrial in a drug case shot 17 times outside Mohali District Administrative Complex.
Singh had anticipated danger from this group. Days before his death, he informed Chandigarh Police about an extortion call demanding ₹50 lakh, attributing it to the Bambiha gang. Reports suggest the demand came from Prince Chauhan, a known member. The victim’s prior warnings highlight the escalating gang threats he faced in his property dealings.

Gaurav Patial assumed leadership of the Bambiha gang after founder Davinder Bambiha's death in a 2016 police encounter. Operating from Armenia to evade capture, Patial's group is locked in fierce rivalries with the Lawrence Bishnoi and Sampat Nehra gangs. These tensions have fueled a wave of retaliatory shootings across Punjab and Chandigarh.
Chandigarh Police are verifying the social media claim's authenticity while investigating the daylight execution. They recovered 13 empty cartridges from the Sector 9 scene and traced the shooters' escape into Mohali, where the getaway motorcycle—bearing a fake registration plate—was found abandoned. The probe continues amid heightened security concerns.
This murder underscores rising organized crime in the region, with gangs exploiting social media for public threats. Authorities face pressure to dismantle cross-border networks like Patial's, as Punjab-Chandigarh witnesses increasing gang warfare linked to extortion, narcotics, and personal vendettas.
