A helicopter operated by Saudi oil giant Saudi Aramco crashed in Ras Tanura on Sunday morning, killing all 14 people on board, according to the Saudi state news agency. Authorities confirmed that all victims were Saudi nationals, while investigations have been launched to determine the cause of the accident.
The Saudi Ministry of Energy said the incident occurred on June 28, 2026, at approximately 6:00 am local time. In an official statement carried by the Saudi Press Agency, it expressed regret over the crash and confirmed that the aircraft was operated by Aramco. The statement described the fatalities as “martyrdom” and said no survivors were reported from the crash site.
Officials added that the cause of the crash remains unknown and that a detailed investigation is underway with the participation of relevant authorities. At this stage, no technical fault, weather-related issue, or external factor has been confirmed. Emergency response teams were deployed to the area shortly after the incident was reported.

Ras Tanura, located on Saudi Arabia’s eastern coast near key shipping routes in the Gulf, is home to one of the world’s most important oil export terminals operated by Aramco. The crash comes at a sensitive time for energy logistics in the Gulf, as Aramco had recently resumed crude loading operations at Ras Tanura after a months-long suspension linked to regional conflict tensions.
