A devastating LPG cylinder blast injured five family members, including three children, in a house behind Mahant Indresh Hospital in Patel Nagar, Dehradun, on Sunday. The explosion, triggered by a gas leak, occurred around 6:45 AM in a single-room home where a stove and LPG cylinder were stored.
Police reported that the cylinder leaked overnight, and a spark from an electric switch ignited the gas, causing a fire and subsequent blast. The injured, identified as Vijay Sahu (38), his wife Sunita (35), and their children Amar (11), Anamika (8), and Sunny (8), were rushed to the hospital for treatment.
Authorities noted that closed doors and windows trapped the gas, intensifying the incident.
