In a major push to modernize public infrastructure, the Goa State Infrastructure Development Corporation (GSIDC) has given the green light to projects worth a whopping ₹149 crore, setting the stage for a transformative overhaul across key sectors in the state.
The decision was made during the 206th GSIDC board meeting, chaired by Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, who emphasized the government’s mission to deliver next-generation civic amenities as part of the Viksit Goa 2037 vision.
Among the approved projects:

A state-of-the-art boys’ hostel at Goa Medical College, Bambolim — ₹113 crore

Demolition and reconstruction of the old St Estevam bridge in North Goa — ₹21 crore

Redevelopment of the old bus stand at Margao, South Goa — ₹12 crore

Upgrades to the Sankhalim municipal market and revamping government buildings in Margao
“These projects are not just structures—they're investments in people’s quality of life,” said the Chief Minister, adding that speed, quality, and accessibility remain top priorities.
