A 60-year-old man's heroic effort to rush his seriously ill son-in-law to a hospital ended in tragedy when he was fatally struck by an iron rod during a road altercation, highlighting the perils of roadside disputes.

Bhagwan Singh was driving his son-in-law from their home to Jhalawar District Hospital in Rajasthan, approximately 120 km away, when their vehicle encountered a traffic jam caused by a pickup truck in Khilchipur town on March 9. Witnesses reported that Singh stepped out to request the truck driver, identified as 26-year-old Kailash Tanwar, to move aside and allow passage for the medical emergency. Instead, Tanwar, allegedly intoxicated, attacked Singh with an iron rod, inflicting a severe head injury that caused heavy bleeding.

Despite the grievous wound, Singh refused to halt the journey, tying a towel around his bleeding head and continuing to direct the family another 70 km to the hospital while blood seeped through the cloth. Tragically, upon arrival at Jhalawar, doctors declared him brought dead, prioritizing the son-in-law's treatment who survived the ordeal. The incident, captured partially on CCTV, unfolded amid a crowded road, turning a desperate rescue into a tale of unimaginable sacrifice.
