The Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted raids at the residence of Punjab Cabinet Minister Sanjeev Arora on Saturday, marking the third such operation at his Chandigarh home in connection with an ongoing investigation into alleged foreign exchange violations. The action triggered a sharp political response from Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, who accused central agencies of using pressure tactics against the ruling Aam Aadmi Party in the state.
According to sources, more than half a dozen ED vehicles were seen outside Arora’s residence during the search operation. The latest raid is part of a broader probe that had previously led to searches at multiple locations linked to the minister on April 17. Investigators are reportedly examining suspected foreign exchange irregularities and related financial transactions as part of the ongoing inquiry.
Officials said parallel enforcement action was also underway in the Kharar area, where searches were being conducted at a property linked to alleged liaison agent Nitin Gohal at Western Towers. The coordinated operations form part of a wider investigation network being pursued by the agency in the region, although no formal charges have been announced at this stage.

Reacting strongly to the raids, Chief Minister Mann stated in a post on social media platform X that such action had been carried out multiple times within a short period, including twice in a single month. He said that despite repeated searches, no incriminating evidence had been found and accused the Enforcement Directorate of attempting to create political pressure.
Mann further alleged that the raids were politically motivated and targeted at weakening his party’s government in Punjab. Without directly naming individuals, he referred to what he called an “ED-BJP alliance” and said the state would not “bow down to pressure tactics.” He also invoked Punjab’s historical and cultural legacy, stating that it is “the land of Gurus and Bhagat Singh” and would resist intimidation. The developments have intensified the ongoing political confrontation between the state government and central investigative agencies, with both sides maintaining sharply opposing narratives as the probe continues.
