The Delhi Traffic Police has issued an advisory warning commuters of possible traffic disruptions across the national capital on October 10 ahead of a proposed protest by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) at Jantar Mantar. Traffic diversions may be introduced at 30 locations from 6 am, depending on the law and order situation and the movement of protesters. Authorities have urged commuters to plan their journeys in advance and prepare for delays.
The areas likely to experience traffic restrictions include Dhaula Kuan Flyover, Shankar Road-Vande Mataram T-Point, Jhandewalan, Panchkuian, Mandi House, Minto Road, Guru Nanak Chowk, Connaught Place and Jantar Mantar Road. Other potentially affected locations include Lodhi Road Flyover, Neela Gumbad, Bhikaji Cama Place, Moti Bagh Flyover, Windsor Palace roundabout, Rail Bhawan, Patel Chowk and the RML Hospital roundabout.
Commuters travelling towards railway stations, inter-state bus terminals and the airport through New Delhi and Central Delhi have been advised to allow additional time for their journeys. The traffic police has also recommended avoiding non-essential travel in areas where restrictions may be imposed. Diversions and traffic regulations will depend on conditions on the ground and may be adjusted as the situation develops.

The advisory comes ahead of the CJP's planned demonstration at Jantar Mantar over alleged irregularities in electoral rolls. The party is demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and has opposed the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter lists. The proposed protest has prompted authorities to prepare traffic management measures around key routes and locations in the capital.
The traffic police has advised the public to monitor its official website and social media accounts for real-time updates on diversions, alternative routes and changing traffic conditions. Commuters seeking assistance can contact the Delhi Traffic Police helpline at 1095 or 011-25844444. Authorities have urged motorists to follow instructions from traffic personnel and account for possible delays when travelling through the affected parts of the city.
