The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has taken into custody a resident of Faridabad, identified as Soyab, on charges of harbouring and actively assisting Umar Un Nabi—the individual confirmed by investigators to be the suicide bomber who detonated a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device near Delhi’s historic Red Fort on November 10, 2025. The arrest marks a significant breakthrough in the ongoing federal probe into one of the deadliest attacks on the national capital in recent years.
Soyab, a resident of Dhauj village in Faridabad district of Haryana, has emerged as the seventh accused to be formally arrested in the case. Sources within the agency indicate that he maintained close contact with the bomber in the final days leading up to the incident and allegedly provided him safe accommodation and other forms of covert support, thereby becoming an integral link in the terror module’s operational chain.
Investigators have revealed that Soyab extended critical logistical assistance to Umar Un Nabi during the most sensitive pre-attack phase, including arrangements that allowed the bomber to remain undetected by local law enforcement and intelligence networks. This support, officials state, directly facilitated the perpetrator’s ability to reach the target location and execute the suicide mission, which resulted in multiple fatalities and left scores of civilians with life-threatening injuries.

The case, officially registered under RC-21/2025/NIA/DLI, has already witnessed the apprehension of six additional aides and facilitators of the bomber over the past weeks. Each arrest has yielded fresh leads pointing to a wider support ecosystem that operated across state boundaries, prompting the NIA to widen its dragnet and intensify technical and human intelligence operations.
As the investigation progresses, multi-state search operations involving NIA sleuths and state anti-terrorism squads continue unabated. Raids are being conducted simultaneously in several sensitive locations as authorities race to dismantle the remaining nodes of the conspiracy and prevent any potential follow-up strikes, with the agency asserting that every individual linked to the planning, financing, or execution of the Red Fort blast will be brought to justice.
