Actress Saumya Tandon, currently in the spotlight for her role in the film Dhurandhar, faced confusion while attempting to vote during the Maharashtra civic body elections after she was unable to find her name on the voter list at her designated polling booth. The incident occurred on Thursday morning during polling for the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections.
According to Saumya, she had verified her voter details online before heading out to cast her vote. She said there was a help desk in her residential building where volunteers guided her to a specific polling booth based on the information she had checked. The actress said she even took a screenshot of the online verification to avoid any issues at the booth.
However, upon reaching the polling location, officials informed her that her voter details were linked to another venue. Speaking to news agency ANI, Saumya said she was redirected elsewhere, despite earlier online information pointing her to Dalmia College as her polling station. The sudden change left her uncertain about whether her name was actually present on the voter list.

Expressing her concern, Saumya emphasized the importance of voting, calling it both her right and her duty as a citizen. She said she was keen to cast her vote but was left confused by the conflicting information provided online and on the ground. She also questioned why such discrepancies existed despite prior verification.
Polling across 29 municipal corporations in Maharashtra was held on January 15, with vote counting scheduled for January 16. The elections witnessed widespread participation, along with isolated reports of voter-related issues such as name mismatches and polling booth confusion.
