Ranbir Kapoor, currently one of Bollywood's busiest actors, provided an exciting update on the highly anticipated sequel Animal Park during a recent interview with a leading newswire agency. The 2023 smash hit Animal, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, grossed over ₹915 crore worldwide, captivating audiences with its intense narrative, high-octane action sequences, and stellar performances from Ranbir alongside Anil Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, Triptii Dimri, and Bobby Deol, whose villainous role earned widespread acclaim.
Speaking candidly about the franchise's future, Ranbir revealed that Vanga envisions not just a single sequel but a sprawling three-part saga. "He [Sandeep] just kind of flirted with what he really wants to do with the movie. He wants to make it in three parts. The second part is called Animal Park," the actor shared. This ambitious plan stems from creative discussions that began during the production of the original film, where the team brainstormed ways to extend the gripping story of family loyalty, revenge, and moral ambiguity.
Production delays are attributed to Vanga's current commitment to his upcoming project Spirit, starring Prabhas in a high-concept action thriller. Ranbir explained, "The director is right now making another film (Spirit). We should start that film [Animal Park] in 2027. It's a bit away." Despite this, Ranbir assured fans that Animal Park remains a top priority amid his own packed slate, which includes Sanjay Leela Bhansali's romantic drama Love & War—co-starring Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal—and Nitesh Tiwari's ambitious two-part mythological epic Ramayana, where he portrays Lord Rama.

Adding intrigue to Animal Park, Ranbir will take on a dual role, embodying both the protagonist and antagonist. He described the plot twist with enthusiasm: "It's very exciting because now I get to play two characters, the antagonist and the protagonist." The story reportedly features the antagonist undergoing plastic surgery to mimic the protagonist's appearance, creating a thrilling body-double dynamic that promises edge-of-the-seat suspense and deeper exploration of the Animal universe's themes.
Fans of the franchise, which redefined commercial Bollywood success with its blend of raw emotion, stylish action, and controversial undertones, can look forward to more developments as Vanga wraps up Spirit. Ranbir's commitment underscores the project's scale, positioning Animal as a landmark trilogy in Indian cinema.
