Toyota Kirloskar Motor has launched the all-electric Urban Cruiser Ebella in India at a starting price of Rs 23.60 lakh (ex-showroom), marking the company’s entry into the growing mid-size electric SUV segment. The newly introduced EV shares its platform and underpinnings with the Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara and is aimed at competing with established rivals such as the Hyundai Creta Electric, MG ZS EV, and Tata Curvv EV. The launch comes at a time when demand for electric mobility continues to rise steadily in the Indian automotive market.
The Toyota Urban Cruiser Ebella adopts a design language inspired by the global styling cues of the Japanese automaker while retaining similarities with the e-Vitara. The SUV features a sculpted bonnet, sharp character lines, aerodynamic alloy wheels, and a distinctive front fascia that gives it a muscular appearance. In terms of dimensions, the electric SUV measures 4,285 mm in length, nearly 1,800 mm in width, and around 1,640 mm in height, while offering a wheelbase of 2,700 mm for improved cabin space and stability.
Toyota has introduced the Urban Cruiser Ebella in multiple exterior shades, including Cafe White, Bluish Black, Gaming Grey, Sportin Red, and Enticing Silver. The company is also offering dual-tone paint schemes paired with a contrasting black roof to enhance the SUV’s premium appeal. The styling package is aimed at younger buyers and urban customers looking for a modern electric SUV with a blend of practicality and aggressive road presence in the rapidly expanding EV segment.

Inside the cabin, the Urban Cruiser Ebella comes with dual-tone black and brown interiors along with a dashboard layout similar to that of the Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara. The SUV is equipped with a wide range of premium and connected features, including a 10.1-inch infotainment system, a panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats, a wireless charging pad, a JBL audio system, ambient lighting, climate control, an air purifier, and a rotary gear selector. Toyota has also focused heavily on safety by providing seven airbags, a 360-degree camera system, and Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS).
The electric SUV will be offered with two battery pack options—a 49 kWh unit and a larger 61 kWh battery. The higher-spec variant is powered by a 171.6 hp electric motor producing 189 Nm of torque, while the smaller battery version develops 106 hp. Toyota claims the Urban Cruiser Ebella can deliver a maximum driving range of up to 543 kilometers on a single charge, positioning it among the longer-range offerings in its category. The vehicle will also be available with both two-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive configurations.
Toyota has confirmed that the Urban Cruiser E-Belta uses LFP battery technology and supports both AC and DC fast charging options. The launch reflects the company’s broader strategy to strengthen its electric vehicle portfolio in India as competition intensifies in the affordable premium EV space. With strong feature offerings, multiple battery options, and an extended claimed range, the Urban Cruiser Ebella is expected to play a key role in Toyota’s efforts to expand its presence in India’s rapidly evolving electric mobility market.
