Apple is reportedly testing larger displays and a curved, borderless design for its 20th-anniversary iPhone lineup, which is expected to debut in 2027. The devices, widely referred to as the iPhone 20 series, could represent one of the company’s most significant smartphone redesigns in years, although Apple has not confirmed any development details.
According to Chinese tipster Digital Chat Station, Apple is evaluating two new display sizes for its anniversary models. The purported iPhone 20 Pro could feature a screen measuring approximately 6.4 inches, while the iPhone 20 Pro Max may carry a panel of around seven inches. Both displays would be slightly larger than those used in the company’s current Pro lineup.
For comparison, the iPhone 17 Pro reportedly features a 6.3-inch Super Retina XDR display, while the iPhone 17 Pro Max uses a 6.9-inch panel. The tipster claimed that Apple may increase the physical size of the anniversary devices without changing their overall screen aspect ratio, potentially providing users with more display space while retaining familiar proportions.

The iPhone 20 Pro models are also tipped to receive a borderless design featuring glass that curves along all four edges. If the information proves accurate, the anniversary lineup could become the first iPhone series to use curved display glass, as previous Apple smartphones have largely retained flat screens despite changes to their frames, bezels and display cutouts.
Earlier reports suggested that Apple had accelerated work on two differently sized anniversary models, reportedly carrying the internal codenames V73 and V74. The company is also rumoured to be developing under-display Face ID technology, which could remove the need for the Dynamic Island cutout and help create a more seamless, uninterrupted viewing area.
The anniversary handsets could reportedly be powered by Apple’s A21 chipset manufactured using a two-nanometre process, potentially delivering improvements in performance and energy efficiency. However, the display dimensions, curved-glass design, under-screen authentication system and processor specifications remain based on unofficial leaks and may change before the expected 2027 launch.
