Realme unveiled its highly anticipated GT 8 series in China, introducing the Realme GT 8 Pro and Realme GT 8 at a grand launch event. The GT 8 Pro, powered by Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC and paired with an R1 X graphics chip, sets a new standard for performance. Boasting a colossal 7,000mAh silicon-carbon battery, a 2K OLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate, and IP69+IP68+IP66 dust and water resistance ratings, the GT 8 Pro is designed for power users. Both models feature ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensors for secure biometric authentication, ensuring a premium user experience.
The GT 8 Pro’s camera system, enhanced by Ricoh GR optics, delivers professional-grade photography with swappable 28mm and 40mm lens modules, supporting features like Quick Focus Mode and seamless focal length switching. The standard GT 8, while slightly more compact with a 6.6-inch flat OLED display, shares the same powerful chipset and offers a capable dual or triple camera setup optimized for everyday use. Both devices run Realme UI on Android 15, incorporating AI-driven enhancements for photography and performance, and come equipped with up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage, catering to demanding multitasking and storage needs.
Pricing for the GT 8 Pro starts at CNY 3,999 (approximately Rs. 50,000) for the 12GB RAM + 256GB storage variant, with the top-tier 16GB RAM + 1TB model priced at CNY 5,199 (around Rs. 64,000). The GT 8 is more affordable, beginning at CNY 2,899 (about Rs. 36,000) for the 12GB RAM + 256GB configuration, and reaching CNY 4,099 (roughly Rs. 51,000) for the 16GB RAM + 1TB option. Available in Blue, White, and Green colorways, both smartphones are now listed for pre-order on Realme’s official Chinese online store, with global availability, including India, expected in the coming weeks.
