The One UI 8.5 beta brings several new features aimed at improving user experience and device functionality. Highlights include a fully customisable Quick Panel, upgraded Galaxy AI tools for image generation, and enhanced cross-device storage sharing across Samsung devices.

A major addition is the new Audio Broadcast menu in settings, powered by Auracast functionality, allowing easier streaming and listening. Users will also notice redesigned weather widgets, alarm backgrounds, early alerts for reminders, and improved Smart View accessibility.

In Germany, the update is rolling out with firmware versions S938BXXU7ZYL7, S938BOXM7ZYL7, and S938BXXU7CYL7, including the December 2025 Android security patch. The beta download is approximately 4GB, and further countries are expected to join the programme in the coming weeks.

Performance and battery optimisations are included, along with privacy and security improvements. The update also allows extensive customisation of the lock screen, widgets, and icons, reinforcing Samsung’s focus on a personalised user experience.
