Smartphone maker Honor has officially announced the launch date of its upcoming flagship device, the Honor X80 Pro Max, which is set to debut in China on June 22 at 7 pm local time (4:30 pm IST). The company confirmed the launch through a post on its official Weibo handle, also revealing key specifications and design elements of the new handset. The device has already been listed for pre-order via Honor’s online store in China ahead of its formal unveiling.
The biggest highlight of the Honor X80 Pro Max is its massive 11,000mAh battery, making it one of the largest batteries ever featured in a mainstream smartphone. This marks a significant upgrade over the Honor Power 2, which previously held the company’s record with a 10,080mAh cell. Alongside the large battery, the device will support 90W wired fast charging and 27W wired reverse charging, positioning it as a power-centric smartphone aimed at heavy users.
In terms of design, Honor has revealed that the X80 Pro Max will feature a flat rear panel with a circular camera module housing a single 50-megapixel AI Vision rear camera along with an LED flash. The smartphone will be offered in four colour options—Lightning Red, Moonlight White, Mystic Black, and Vibrant Orange—expanding its appeal across different user preferences. The branding is placed centrally near the bottom of the back panel, while the right side houses the power and volume buttons.

Early reports suggest the device may sport a 6.8-inch OLED display with a resolution of 1,280 x 2,788 pixels and a hole-punch front camera design. Under the hood, it is expected to be powered by a Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 chipset, though the company has not officially confirmed the processor at the time of announcement. The handset is likely to run on Android 16-based software with Honor’s custom interface on top.
With its combination of a high-capacity battery and fast charging capabilities, the Honor X80 Pro Max appears targeted at users prioritising endurance and performance over compact design. The smartphone is expected to compete in the mid-to-premium segment of the Chinese market upon launch. More details, including pricing and final specifications, will be revealed at the official launch event on June 22.
