The Tennis Premier League (TPL) is set to make history with its seventh edition, scheduled to be held at Gujarat University Stadium in Ahmedabad from December 9 to 14, 2025. This marks the first time the prestigious eight-team competition will take place outside Maharashtra, bringing world-class tennis to Gujarat.
The event promises an electrifying showcase of talent, featuring international players with ATP rankings between 30 and 50, alongside Indian stars, including two-time Grand Slam champion Rohan Bopanna.
The TPL has solidified its reputation as a premier platform for promoting tennis in India, blending elite competition with grassroots development. This year’s edition in Ahmedabad underscores the league’s growing partnership with the Gujarat State Tennis Association (GSTA).
“Over the past year, Tennis Premier League has deepened its association with the GSTA by conducting tournaments across age groups and supporting young players through the Race to Gold Scholarships, thereby strengthening its grassroots presence in the state,” the league stated in a release. These initiatives aim to nurture emerging talent and expand tennis’s reach in Gujarat.
The move to Ahmedabad reflects TPL’s commitment to broadening its footprint across India while delivering high-energy matches to new audiences. With top-tier players and local heroes like Bopanna, the tournament is poised to captivate fans at the state-of-the-art Gujarat University Stadium.
The six-day event will not only highlight competitive tennis but also inspire the next generation of players, reinforcing TPL’s role in transforming India’s tennis landscape.
