India suffered their heaviest defeat by runs in T20 International history after England secured a dominant 125-run victory in the third match of the five-game series on Tuesday. Chasing a target of 202, India were bowled out for just 76 in 11.4 overs as England's fast bowlers overwhelmed the batting order. The victory gave England a 2-0 series lead after the opening match was abandoned, while India's winless run under captain Shreyas Iyer extended to five matches.
Jofra Archer and Josh Tongue led England's demolition of the Indian batting line-up with a hostile display of fast bowling. Archer claimed three wickets for 29 runs in three overs, while Tongue returned figures of four for 28 from four overs. India were reduced to 52 for five inside the first five overs, effectively ending the contest early. Only four Indian batters reached double figures as poor shot selection and an inability to handle England's pace contributed to the collapse.
Teenager Vaibhav Sooryavanshi briefly attacked the bowlers by hitting one six each off Archer and Tongue, but his innings ended after just five deliveries for 13 runs. A sharp bouncer directed towards his right shoulder prompted him to attempt a hook, only for wicketkeeper Jos Buttler to complete the catch. Abhishek Sharma was caught at deep extra cover, Ishan Kishan fell soon after hitting a six, while Shreyas Iyer and Axar Patel were also dismissed cheaply.

Earlier, England posted 201 for seven after opener Phil Salt scored 70 from 44 deliveries and Sam Curran produced an unbeaten 41 from 24 balls. Salt struck seven fours and three sixes, while Curran's late assault helped England add 89 runs in the final eight overs after they had been 111 for four at the end of the 12th over. Jos Buttler contributed 36 from 21 balls, while Harry Brook scored 16 before falling to Prince Yadav.
India's fast bowlers produced a competitive performance despite England crossing the 200-run mark. Harshit Rana finished with two wickets for 40 runs from four overs, while Prince Yadav claimed two for 30 and removed Buttler with a yorker. However, the spinners struggled to contain the scoring, with Axar conceding 49 runs despite taking Salt's wicket and Varun Chakravarthy going wicketless for 35 runs from three overs.
England recovered from a difficult start before Salt and Curran accelerated the scoring and gave the hosts a commanding total. India's chase then unravelled rapidly against Archer and Tongue, leaving the visitors with their worst T20I defeat by runs. The result has increased pressure on the Indian team as England moved firmly ahead in the five-match series, with India now needing a strong response in the remaining matches to avoid a series defeat.
