The first round of the JK Tyre Racing Championship concluded in Coimbatore with standout performances by seasoned rider Anish Shetty and teenage sensation Bhuvan Bonu. Shetty, a veteran competitor, secured a hat-trick of victories in the Royal Enfield Continental GT Cup, dominating a competitive field of both experienced and novice riders. His flawless performance earned him a commanding lead in the standings with 30 points.
Defending champion Navaneeth Kumar fought back to claim second place with 12 points, while Kayan Zubin Patel impressed with a third-place finish, accumulating 19 points. Reflecting on his success, Shetty remarked, “It has been a fruitful weekend, and all the hard work paid off.”
In the amateur category, Pondicherry’s Bryan Nicholas delivered an exceptional performance, winning all three races to lead with 36 points. Johring Warisa from Umrangso followed with 27 points, and Vadodara’s Kabir Sahoch secured third place with 18 points.
The Novice Cup saw 15-year-old Bhuvan Bonu from Bengaluru, who trains in the United States, outpace his competitors with remarkable skill, clinching the top spot. His effortless control on the track marked him as a rising star in the championship.
