The Delhi Capitals team is making all the right noises on the field this season.
Off field too, the noise isn't all that bad. Especially the one between ist senior player KL Rahul and the team's mentor Kevin Pietersen.
During the practice session ahead of Delhi Capitals' clash against Gujarat Titans at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, the two had an exchange of words.

But, no worries, it was all banter and good humour.
It all started when Pietersen posed a rhetorical question to Gujarat Titans captain Shubman Gill: "Bro, what’s a mentor? No one knows what a mentor is. Can you tell me what a mentor is?" Before Gill could respond, KL Rahul, who was nearby, jumped in with a cheeky dig: "A mentor is someone who goes to the Maldives for two weeks mid-season."
The reference was, of course, to Pietersen's recent vacation, which saw him miss two of Delhi Capitals' matches earlier this month. Pietersen, who had taken a break after DC's win against Chennai Super Kings, returned just in time for their Super Over victory against Rajasthan Royals.
Of course, this could all have been staged, as the official handle of the Delhi Capitals shared the clip on its Insta page.
The caption read: "Thanks, KL, now we know what a mentor does."
But there is also a background to Rahul and Pietersen seeming banter. Earlier this season, Rahul roasted Pietersen after a stellar performance against Chennai Super Kings. Rahul then reminded Pietersen of his infamous tweet comparing Rahul’s batting style to "watching paint dry."
Rahul and Pietersen are both known for their wit and know a thing or two in evolved friendly exchanges.
In any case, such fun and camaraderie is a reflection of the mood in the DC camp. No wonder it is winning and at the top of the table.
