At just 29, Mahanaryaman Scindia has taken the helm as the youngest president of the Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association (MPCA), and he’s wasting no time in shaking things up. Stepping into a role once held by his grandfather Madhavrao Scindia and father Jyotiraditya Scindia, the young leader is determined to carve his own legacy by boosting cricket at every level in the state.
“I’m focused on Madhya Pradesh right now. I have a huge mandate, and I want to make an impact without biting off more than I can chew,” Scindia told PTI Videos. His vision? To nurture talent, streamline processes, and bring fresh energy to a state with untapped cricketing potential.
Scindia sees his youth as a game-changer. “India is a young country—60–70% of our population is under 35. Bringing fresh ideas and a balanced team with diverse experience will drive real change in MPCA,” he said. His priorities include strengthening district-level cricket and elevating women’s cricket, with Indore and Gwalior as models for vibrant club competitions he hopes to replicate statewide.

One of his first challenges is ensuring a flawless hosting of the ICC Women’s World Cup, starting September 30, with Indore as a key venue. “Preparations are underway. We’ve already met with the police, the commissioner’s team, and the municipal corporation to iron out details like security and logistics,” Scindia said. “Now, it’s about executing the matches perfectly.”
Carrying forward his family’s legacy—his grandfather’s knack for spotting talent and his father’s push for professionalising cricket administration—Scindia feels the weight of responsibility. “It’s immense pressure, but I’m ready to add value and take MP cricket to new heights,” he said.
With bold ideas and a clear focus, Scindia is set to make waves in Madhya Pradesh cricket. Will he be the spark that transforms the state into a cricketing powerhouse? Only time will tell.
