India delivered an impressive performance at the 17th World Wushu Championship in Brazil, with three female athletes advancing to the finals and two men progressing in the knockout stages, as per the Wushu Association of India.
In the women's 52 kg category, Aparna outclassed Indonesia's Tharisa Dea Florientina to reach the gold medal bout, where she'll face Vietnam's Ngo Thi Bhuong Nga on Sunday. Kareena Kaushik dominated Brazil's Nathalia Briquesi Silva in the 60 kg semifinal, setting up a title clash with China's Xiaowei Wu.
Shivani delivered a stunning victory over Russia's Ekaterina Valchuk in the 75 kg category, earning a final spot against Iran's Shahrbano Mansouriyaan Semiromi.

On the men's side, Sagar Dahiya advanced to the 56 kg semifinal with a commanding display and will battle the Philippines' Carlos Baylon Jr for a finals berth on Sunday.
Vikrant Baliyan progressed to the 75 kg quarterfinal, aiming for the medal rounds against China's Gensheng Jin. The strong showing highlights India's rising prowess in wushu, with hopes high for multiple podium finishes in the ongoing championship.
