The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has increased jersey sponsorship rates for the Indian team, setting them at Rs 3.5 crore per match for bilateral series and Rs 1.5 crore for multilateral events organized by the ICC or Asian Cricket Council (ACC). This marks a rise from the current Rs 3.17 crore for bilateral games and Rs 1.12 crore for multilateral matches, according to industry sources reported by Cricbuzz.
The adjustment follows the abrupt exit of Dream11 as the team's lead sponsor, prompted by the government's Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Act, 2025, which bans entities involved in real money gaming from offering or promoting such services. The BCCI swiftly terminated Dream11's contract, which ended after the fantasy platform shut down its real money operations.
New rates will apply post the upcoming Asia Cup, starting September 9 in the UAE, where India will play without a title sponsor. The BCCI has invited bids for sponsorship rights, with a submission deadline of September 16, explicitly barring companies in real money gaming or cryptocurrency sectors.

This revision could generate over Rs 400 crore for the BCCI, potentially more based on bidding outcomes. The move underscores the board's strategy to capitalize on the team's global appeal while navigating regulatory changes in sponsorship landscapes. Dream11's departure highlights the Act's impact on gaming firms, prohibiting any aid, inducement, or advertising of online money games.
