Gujarat’s Republic Day tableau, themed “Swatantrata Ka Mantra: Vande Mataram,” has been formally awarded the first prize in the Popular Choice category in New Delhi. The honour was presented three days after the Republic Day Parade at Kartavya Path, following the official declaration of results.
The tableau emerged as the people’s top choice during the 77th Republic Day celebrations, marking Gujarat’s fourth consecutive Popular Choice Award. The formal presentation ceremony was held at the National School of Drama campus, where Union Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth handed over the trophy and certificate.
The award was received on behalf of the Gujarat government by State Information and Broadcasting Secretary Vikrant Pandey and Commissioner Kishor Bachani. Officials said the achievement highlights Gujarat’s consistent performance at the national parade, with the state securing five awards over the past four years.

In addition to the tableau honour, Gujarat also received a consolation prize in a cultural dance competition organised during the tableau construction phase. The competition featured performances by artists from several states, with Gujarat’s traditional dance presentation earning appreciation from the organisers.
The planning and execution of the tableau were carried out under the direction of Commissioner Kishor Bachani and the guidance of Additional Director of Information Arvind Patel. Joint Director Sanjay Kachot and Deputy Director Bhavna Vasava coordinated the production and presentation of the tableau.
Gujarat’s winning streak began in 2023 with the “Clean Green Energy–Powered Gujarat” tableau, followed by the 2024 “Dhordo: World’s Best Tourism Village” entry. In 2025, the state showcased “From Anartpur to Ekta Nagar,” continuing its record of public acclaim at the Republic Day Parade.
