At just 10 years old, Atiqa Mir has etched her name in motorsport history, becoming the first female to win a race in the Minimax category at the UAE’s prestigious DAMC Championship. Dominating a field of 14 drivers, including seasoned European karting champions, Atiqa stormed to victory from pole position at the Dubai Kartdrome, marking a monumental milestone for Indian racing.
Starting from the front, Atiqa showcased remarkable skill and composure, navigating the track flawlessly to claim the chequered flag. Her triumph not only secured her the win but also made her the first woman to achieve both pole position and a final victory in the Minimax category, setting a blazing start to her Middle Eastern karting campaign.
Atiqa’s talent has already caught global attention. Earlier this year, she became the first Indian driver to join Formula 1’s F1 Academy DYD program, a testament to her extraordinary potential. “This win means so much to me,” Atiqa said. “Dubai Kartdrome is where my karting journey began, so it’s incredibly special.
