The 2027 World Cup will be jointly hosted by South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia and will feature 14 teams competing across 12 venues. The tournament is scheduled to comprise 57 matches and will mark the return of the men’s ODI World Cup to Africa after a gap of 24 years. The fixture announcement will provide teams and supporters with the complete schedule and details of the venues where the matches will be played.
The schedule announcement also coincides with the opening of the ticket ballot for the tournament. According to the information provided, the ballot will open on October 1 and remain open until November 21. Entry is free, and fans can apply for tickets to multiple matches, although submitting an application does not guarantee the opportunity to purchase a ticket.
If demand exceeds the number of tickets available, a randomised ballot will be used to determine which eligible applicants receive the opportunity to purchase tickets. Fans planning to attend the tournament will therefore need to follow the ballot process and wait for the outcome before securing match tickets. The ICC schedule announcement is expected to provide the first complete picture of the 2027 World Cup fixtures and allow supporters to begin planning around the tournament.
