The UEFA Champions League 2025 quarterfinals continue tonight with the second leg matches, with tonight's encounters (12.30 a.m. IST) featuring home team Borussia Dortmund against title favourites Barcelona and Aston Villa facing off visitors PSG.
In the first leg last week, Barcelona decimated Borussia Dortmund 4-0. At the BVB Stadion Dortmund, Germany, the local team faces a near impossible battle after being overwhelmed by Barcelona in the first leg. The Catalan giants, led by Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha, and Lamine Yamal, showcased their attacking prowess, leaving Dortmund with a four-goal deficit. Dortmund will rely on its home crowd support and hope for a miracle comeback, but Barcelona's unbeaten run in 2025 makes it a formidable team to beat.
Outmanoeuvred by Hansi Flick, his assistant coach at Bayern in 2019, Niko Kovač, however, hopes to rebuild his team's confidence ahead of the second leg. "I saw some good things out there and now it's my job to communicate them to my players," the Dortmund coach said. Winless in its six European encounters with Barcelona, Dortmund would need quite the first victory to turn this tie around.

In the other match tonight, Aston Villa takes on the plucky Paris Saint-Germain (PSG). In the first leg, the Paris team ran circles around Aston Villa, and won convincingly 3-1.
The second leg, at its home ground Villa Park, England, Aston has to erase the two-goal deficit. But the confident Luis Enrique's PSG, fresh off clinching the Ligue 1 title, will look to capitalise on their sharp counterattacks and structured defence. Villa, led by Morgan Rogers, will need to attack aggressively while keeping PSG's star-studded lineup in check. Rogers is keeping his comeback hopes firmly alive. "We've got enough quality to cause any team in the world problems. We've got nothing to lose, so why not go for it?," he has been quoted as saying ahead of the clash. But Paris has been in red-hot form. It has scored three or more goals in six of its last eight Champions League matches.
Both Aston Villa and Borussia Dortmund have their tasks cut out tonight. The odds on them making a plucky comeback would be very high.
