Union Home Minister Amit Shah is set to unveil the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) West Bengal election manifesto on April 10, party sources confirmed to NDTV. The announcement comes ahead of a high-stakes assembly election in the state, with the BJP positioning itself as a strong contender against the incumbent Trinamool Congress (TMC).
According to party insiders, the manifesto will place a strong emphasis on alleged corruption and misgovernance under the TMC government. It is expected to include a White Paper outlining what the BJP describes as 15 years of irregularities in the state administration. The party plans to use this narrative to strengthen its campaign against the ruling party.
The manifesto is also likely to address alleged mafia activities in key sectors, including coal, sand, and stone mining. BJP leaders suggest that highlighting these issues will resonate with voters concerned about law and order as well as economic transparency in resource-rich regions.

On the welfare front, the manifesto reportedly promises Rs 3,000 per month to beneficiaries of Lakshmi Bhandar and a similar monthly assistance for unemployed youth under a proposed scheme named Yuva Sathi. These measures are aimed at addressing immediate financial concerns while appealing to broader social welfare objectives.
Development and infrastructure commitments are expected to feature prominently. The party plans to focus on industrial development in Singur and announce major projects to improve connectivity between North and South Bengal, including expansion of road networks and airport facilities. Additionally, the manifesto is expected to promise clearing all pending Dearness Allowance dues for state government employees within 45 days of forming a new government.
BJP leaders have described the manifesto as a balanced combination of strong political messaging, welfare promises, and development initiatives. With West Bengal’s assembly elections drawing near, the manifesto aims to consolidate support across urban and rural constituencies while presenting the party as a credible alternative to the TMC government.
