Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha convened a strategic meeting with senior leaders of the BJP’s tribal wing, Janajati Morcha, on Thursday to prepare for the June 2026 Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) elections. The 30-member council represents the state’s indigenous communities, which make up 31% of Tripura’s population per the 2011 census.
Joined by BJP state president Rajib Bhattacharjee, former MP Rebati Tripura, and MLA Rampada Jamatia, Saha emphasized the government’s focus on uplifting tribal socio-economic conditions, education, and infrastructure. “Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision drives our efforts for tribal welfare,” he said, highlighting ongoing development initiatives.
Saha praised allies Tipra Motha Party (TMP) and Indigenous People’s Front of Tripura (IPFT) for their contributions to indigenous progress. Bhattacharjee noted discussions centered on implementing the BJP’s 2018 election manifesto and vision document for tribal development.
