Senior Congress leader and MP Shashi Tharoor on Friday strongly endorsed Rahul Gandhi’s leadership, describing him as a sincere person and a powerful voice against communalism in the country. Tharoor said Rahul consistently speaks out against politics rooted in hatred, divisiveness, and social polarization, earning respect within and outside the party.
Speaking to reporters in Thiruvananthapuram, Tharoor said that Rahul Gandhi’s stand on critical national issues has been clear and unwavering. He added that Rahul is widely appreciated for his opposition to communal politics and his commitment to inclusive values. “I do not have a different opinion on that,” Tharoor said when asked about his view on Rahul’s leadership.
Tharoor also clarified that he has never supported or agreed with any criticism directed at Rahul Gandhi. Emphasising personal regard and political alignment, he reiterated that Rahul is a sincere leader who has consistently raised his voice on matters of national importance, particularly social harmony.

The remarks come a day after Tharoor met Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi to address certain grievances. Following the meeting, Tharoor said that all issues had been resolved, stating that “all is good” and that the leadership was “on the same page.”
Tharoor had recently expressed discomfort over his treatment at a party event in Kochi and alleged attempts by some leaders to sideline him in Kerala. His latest comments are being seen as an effort to signal unity within the Congress, amid ongoing discussions about internal coordination and leadership roles in the state.
