Tej Pratap Yadav, the estranged elder son of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) patriarch Lalu Prasad Yadav, has issued a scathing public warning amid escalating tensions in the family feud, declaring that "the insult to my sister is unbearable" and vowing dire consequences for those tarnishing the family's honor.
In a fiery social media post, Tej Pratap expressed profound distress over recent allegations leveled by his sister, Rohini Acharya, who on November 15, 2025, announced her decision to quit politics and sever ties with the family following the RJD's crushing defeat in the Bihar Assembly elections. The outburst comes just days after the opposition alliance, led by his younger brother Tejashwi Yadav, secured only 25 seats, marking one of the party's worst performances in recent history.
The controversy deepened when Rohini Acharya, who gained prominence for donating a kidney to her father in 2022, departed for Singapore on November 15, leaving behind a trail of emotional accusations against family members and party insiders. In a series of cryptic X posts, she claimed harassment, including being held responsible for the electoral debacle, enduring "filthy abuses," and even having a slipper raised against her during a heated confrontation.
Rohini specifically named Sanjay Yadav, a Rajya Sabha MP and close aide to Tejashwi, along with Rameez Nemat Khan, another confidant, as instigators who pressured her to take the fall for the poll rout. She unfollowed key family and party accounts on social media months earlier, signaling brewing discontent, particularly over Tej Pratap's expulsion from the RJD in May 2025 after he publicly declared a personal relationship deemed scandalous by party standards.
Tej Pratap, already ousted from both the family fold and the RJD earlier this year, positioned himself as a defender of familial dignity, recounting his own "ouster" by Lalu Yadav while emphasizing solidarity with Rohini. "I tolerated what happened to me. But the insult inflicted on my sister is unbearable under any circumstance," he wrote, seeking his father's permission to "save the dignity of the family" and threatening that "the people of Bihar will not forgive those who attack my family." His intervention revives earlier barbs where he labeled Sanjay Yadav a "Jaichand"—a historical traitor—accusing him of hijacking the party's direction and fueling the rift. This public backing for Rohini, whom he likened to invoking Lord Krishna's Sudarshan Chakra against detractors, underscores the deepening schisms within the Yadav dynasty, long synonymous with Bihar's caste-based politics.

The feud has drawn sharp political backlash, with the ruling BJP seizing the opportunity to portray the RJD as a hotbed of patriarchal and misogynistic dynamics. BJP IT cell head Amit Malviya lambasted Lalu Yadav for allegedly sidelining Rohini—despite her kidney donation—in favor of Tejashwi's ambitions, while sacrificing family bonds for political gain. Observers note that Rohini's active campaigning for Tejashwi during the polls masked underlying resentments, including her 2024 Lok Sabha loss from Saran and denied assembly ticket, which she attributed to internal sabotage.
As Lalu, now 82 and health-challenged, witnesses his legacy fracture publicly—evoking comparisons to Mughal-era succession battles like Shah Jahan's sons—the episode risks further eroding the RJD's cohesion at a vulnerable juncture. With Tej Pratap and Rohini now on the fringes, the party's future hinges on Tejashwi's ability to mend these wounds amid Bihar's volatile electoral landscape.
