After the NDA’s decisive win in the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections, JD(U) MP Sanjay Jha met Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Saturday and reiterated that the coalition had accepted the people’s mandate with humility. He said the government would dedicate the next five years to fulfilling promises made in its manifesto, particularly those related to youth employment and development.
“We have received a massive mandate, and the NDA accepts it with great humility,” Jha said after the meeting. “Our government will deliver on all commitments, especially the creation of one crore jobs and new opportunities for young people in the state,” he added, underlining Nitish Kumar’s focus on inclusive growth.
Jha also revealed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had encouraged investors to bring new industries to Bihar, calling it a defining moment for the state’s progress. “Nitish Kumar has built a foundation over the past two decades, and this is the time to take Bihar among India’s top ten states in terms of growth,” he said.

Celebrations continued across Bihar as NDA supporters hailed the historic victory. Outside the BJP office in Patna, banners with the slogan “Tiger Abhi Zinda Hai” were displayed, portraying Nitish Kumar as the coalition’s unifying figure. The NDA secured 202 of 243 Assembly seats, while the Mahagathbandhan managed only 35, marking one of the alliance’s strongest performances since 2010.
Within the NDA, the BJP won 89 seats, JD(U) 85, Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) 19, Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular) five, and Rashtriya Lok Morcha four. On the opposition side, RJD bagged 25 seats and Congress six. The Bihar elections, held in two phases on November 6 and 11, recorded an all-time high turnout of 67.13 percent, with women voters casting more ballots than men—a reflection of Bihar’s shifting political dynamics.
