Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav launched a blistering attack on Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, accusing him of lacking vision and branding him a “cheat minister” unfit to lead the state. Speaking to reporters in Patna, Yadav predicted a decisive end to the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government in the upcoming 2025 Bihar Assembly elections, asserting that the people of Bihar are ready to oust Kumar and his allies. The fiery remarks come amid escalating political tensions as the state gears up for a high-stakes electoral battle.
Yadav’s criticism intensified during the Congress’ ‘Voter Adhikar Yatra’ in Ara earlier that day, where he addressed a public rally and accused Kumar of being a “copycat” leader who lacks originality. He claimed that the Janata Dal (United) chief has repeatedly adopted welfare schemes originally proposed by the RJD, presenting them as his own to gain political mileage ahead of the polls. “Bihar wants an original CM, not a duplicate one,” Yadav declared, rallying supporters with a promise of a transformative vision for the state under an RJD-led government.
The RJD leader pointed to specific policies, such as the introduction of a domicile policy, free electricity, and social security pensions for widows, the elderly, and disabled persons, which he claimed were first championed by his party. According to Yadav, Kumar’s government hastily announced similar measures in recent months, attempting to claim credit for ideas the RJD had long advocated. “This copycat government has been exposed,” he said, accusing the NDA of failing to address Bihar’s pressing needs, including unemployment, poverty, and infrastructure development, while resorting to recycled promises to mislead voters.

Yadav’s remarks underscore the deepening rift between the RJD and the NDA, led by Kumar’s JD(U) in alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He alleged that the current government has been “completely exposed” for its inability to deliver meaningful progress, pointing to issues like rising crime rates and inadequate flood management in the state. The RJD leader expressed confidence that voters, disillusioned by years of what he called mismanagement and unfulfilled promises, would choose a new direction in the upcoming elections, paving the way for his party to form the next government.
As the 2025 assembly polls approach, Yadav’s bold claims signal an aggressive campaign strategy by the RJD to challenge the NDA’s dominance. The ‘Voter Adhikar Yatra’ has become a platform for the opposition to mobilize public support, with Yadav positioning himself as a forward-thinking leader with a clear roadmap for Bihar’s development. The escalating war of words between the RJD and JD(U) sets the stage for a fiercely contested election, with both sides vying to sway voters in a state known for its complex political dynamics.
