Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray drove to Matoshree in Bandra on Sunday to personally wish his cousin, Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Uddhav Thackeray, on his 65th birthday, marking a warm moment in their renewed alliance. Accompanied by Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut, Uddhav welcomed Raj at the iconic Matoshree bungalow, where Raj presented a vibrant bouquet of red roses.
The visit follows the cousins’ rare joint appearance on July 5 at a Mumbai “victory” rally celebrating the rollback of Hindi language government resolutions by the BJP-led state government. Addressing Marathi identity and opposing perceived Hindi imposition, Uddhav declared at the rally that he and Raj have “come together to stay together,” signaling a political reunion after nearly two decades of estrangement.
The Thackeray cousins’ gesture underscores a strengthening bond, both personal and political, amid Maharashtra’s evolving political landscape.
