A protest by Opposition MPs outside Parliament turned into a theatrical performance on Friday, with Purnia MP Rajesh Ranjan, popularly known as Pappu Yadav, staging a skit over allegations related to the Ram Temple donation issue. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi also briefly joined the performance, drawing attention to the Opposition’s criticism of the matter and its demand for accountability from the government. The demonstration was held near the Makar Dwar steps of Parliament as Opposition parties continued to raise concerns over multiple issues, including the alleged Ram Temple donation controversy and police action against students during recent protests.
The use of a street-style performance was aimed at highlighting the Opposition’s allegations in a symbolic and public manner. During the skit, Pappu Yadav dressed in saffron robes and carried a photograph of Lord Ram while portraying the role of a temple priest collecting donations from devotees. The performance used satire to target what Opposition leaders described as alleged irregularities linked to the Ram Temple donation issue. Rahul Gandhi’s brief participation in the skit added political visibility to the protest. The Opposition has raised allegations regarding the management of donations associated with the Ram Temple project and has sought answers from authorities.
