AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi has demanded the resignation of Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, holding him accountable for the security failure in the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack that claimed 26 lives. Speaking to reporters in Nanded, Maharashtra, on Wednesday, Owaisi criticized Sinha’s recent admission of responsibility for the intelligence failure, questioning why he has not stepped down.
“Twenty-six Indians were brutally killed in Pahalgam after being targeted for their religion. If the LG accepts responsibility, he should resign,” Owaisi stated, noting the attack’s selective targeting of Hindus. As part of a multi-party delegation to Bahrain, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, and Algeria to promote India’s anti-terror stance post-Operation Sindoor, Owaisi vowed to raise the issue in the upcoming monsoon session of Parliament.
He demanded answers on how terrorists accessed the Baisaran meadow near Pahalgam and why no police security was present, pressing the Modi government for accountability.
