Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi instructed state department secretaries to ensure meticulous preparations for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the state on September 27, as per an official statement from the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO). The Prime Minister is scheduled to attend the national-level “Sewa Parv” programme in Berhampur, a campaign celebrating service as a form of patriotism toward achieving Viksit Bharat, India’s vision for comprehensive development by 2047. Modi will also unveil several high-profile welfare and infrastructure projects during his visit, highlighting Odisha’s role in national progress.
The CMO release detailed that Modi will inaugurate projects including capacity expansions for eight Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), the doubling of the Koraput-Baiguda and Manabar-Koraput-Gorapur railway lines, the Sambalpur-Sarla flyover, and the nationwide rollout of BSNL’s indigenous 4G network services. Additionally, select state hospitals will be declared world-class super-speciality facilities, enhancing healthcare access. These initiatives aim to boost education, connectivity, and economic growth in Odisha and beyond, aligning with the central government’s focus on infrastructure and self-reliance.
During a high-level meeting, CM Majhi emphasised seamless execution, robust security, and widespread public participation to ensure the visit’s success. Discussions covered the deployment of security forces, crowd management, and logistical coordination for the event at Rangelunda near Berhampur, where Modi is expected to arrive at 11 AM. The “Sewa Parv” programme underscores community-driven development, with thousands anticipated to attend, reflecting Odisha’s commitment to national service goals.
