Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati on Tuesday categorically dismissed rumors of an alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), reaffirming her party’s commitment to operating independently.
In a fiery post on X, the former Uttar Pradesh chief minister condemned what she called a “misinformation campaign” aimed at tarnishing the BSP’s image and weakening its Ambedkarite movement. “The BSP is neither part of the BJP-led NDA nor the Congress-led INDIA bloc,” she declared, emphasizing the party’s adherence to its core ideology of Sarvajan Hitay, Sarvajan Sukhay (welfare and happiness for all).
Mayawati labeled reports of a BJP alliance as “false, baseless, and malicious,” accusing casteist elements of targeting Dalits, tribals, and OBCs to politically undermine the BSP. She urged party workers to stay vigilant against such “dirty tactics” and political conspiracies designed to mislead supporters. “BSP workers must not fall for these ploys,” she stressed, calling for unity to protect the party’s mission.
Reaffirming the BSP’s independent stance, Mayawati made it clear that the party will continue to champion its principles without aligning with any caste-based political front, focusing solely on uplifting marginalized communities.
