Hundreds of members of the Telangana Rakshana Sena (TRS) gathered at the Saroor Nagar Indoor Stadium in Hyderabad on Thursday for the Social Justice Telangana Sankalp Sabha, organised by party president K. Kavitha. The event marked a key political outreach initiative as Kavitha sought to position her newly formed party around the themes of social justice, political representation and the empowerment of marginalised communities. Representatives from various sections of society attended the meeting and took a pledge aimed at working towards a "socially just Telangana."
The meeting assumes political significance as Kavitha continues to build the organisational base of the Telangana Rakshana Sena following her split from the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) earlier this year. After launching the party in April, the Election Commission approved Telangana Rakshana Sena as its official name. Addressing the gathering, Kavitha outlined the party's roadmap, stressing inclusive development and greater political representation for Backward Classes (BCs), Scheduled Castes (SCs), Scheduled Tribes (STs), minorities and other socially disadvantaged groups.
Kavitha reiterated her focus on expanding political participation for Backward Classes, a cause she has consistently championed through her campaign seeking 42% reservation for the community in Telangana. According to party sources, the Telangana Rakshana Sena is working to ensure that members from BC, SC and ST communities are given greater representation within the party's organisational structure. The appointment of office-bearers and constituency-level representatives from these communities has been projected as evidence of the party's commitment to inclusive leadership.

During the event, Kavitha also drew a distinction between the achievement of Telangana statehood and the broader goal of achieving social justice. Referring to the vision of Telangana ideologue Professor K. Jayashankar, she argued that the formation of the state should ultimately lead to greater social and economic equality for all sections of society. The party maintained that its political agenda is centred on translating the aspirations behind the Telangana movement into equitable development and representation.
The choice of Saroor Nagar Indoor Stadium as the venue has also attracted political attention. The stadium recently hosted a youth meeting addressed by BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) on July 18, while Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi had unveiled the party's Hyderabad Youth Declaration at the same venue during the Assembly election campaign. Political observers view Kavitha's decision to hold the Social Justice Telangana Sankalp Sabha at the stadium as part of a broader effort to strengthen the Telangana Rakshana Sena's social justice narrative and expand its organisational and electoral presence across the state.
