YSRCP chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy will visit Nellore district today to meet jailed party leader and former minister K Govardhan Reddy at the Central Jail, followed by a visit to party leader Nallapureddy Prasanna Kumar Reddy and his family, the YSRCP announced Wednesday. The visit follows an alleged attack on Jagan’s home by TDP supporters and comes after his recent crowd-pulling tours in Rentapalla and Bangarupalem.
The Andhra Pradesh Police have ramped up security, deploying nearly 900 personnel for the high-profile visit. Guntur Range IG Sarvashresht Tripathi and Nellore’s in-charge SP AR Damodar reviewed arrangements, implementing strict measures including static posts, traffic diversions, helipad surveillance, bomb squad checks, and anti-sabotage protocols. Only three people are permitted inside the jail per prison rules, and gatherings, roadshows, or rallies are strictly prohibited.
“Any violations will face legal action,” warned SP Damodar during a Tuesday press conference, signaling a zero-tolerance approach to ensure order during Jagan’s visit.
