YSRCP chief and Andhra Pradesh opposition leader Jagan Mohan Reddy has accused the TDP-led NDA government of betraying the public with unfulfilled promises and fostering a climate of fear. Speaking at a press conference in Tadepalli, Reddy declared YSRCP as the sole party addressing the struggles of farmers, women, youth, students, and government employees, while challenging Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu’s administration for its alleged deceit.
Reddy claimed the NDA has failed to deliver on 143 election promises, including unemployment aid, free cooking gas, pensions, and fee reimbursements. He highlighted YSRCP’s statewide protests, such as those demanding crop insurance on December 13, 2024, and opposing power tariff hikes of Rs 18,272 crore on December 24, 2024. Campaigns like “Babu Surety, Mosam Guarantee” and “Recalling Chandrababu’s Manifesto” were launched to spotlight the government’s alleged neglect of welfare programs.
The YSRCP leader accused Naidu of orchestrating conspiracies, including police interference during his public visits to markets and condolence meetings. Reddy alleged false FIRs and mass arrests targeted YSRCP supporters, questioning why raising public issues is treated as a crime. “Political parties have the right to meet people,” he asserted, vowing to continue despite intimidation.

Reddy further criticized the NDA for misusing police, claiming officers face harassment for not complying with the government’s demands. Citing the resignation of IPS officer Siddarth Kaushal, he alleged that honest officials are denied postings or deputation to Delhi. He accused the government of using DIG-level officers as “collection agents” to extract kickbacks from sand, liquor, and other sectors, funneling funds to local MLAs, Naidu, and Minister Nara Lokesh.
The opposition leader also flagged the NDA’s borrowing, claiming it amassed Rs 1.75 lakh crore in debt in just 13-14 months—over half the Rs 3.3 lakh crore borrowed by YSRCP’s previous regime. Warning Naidu and complicit officials, Reddy predicted the NDA’s tenure would end in three years, promising accountability. “You will reap what you sow,” he declared, vowing YSRCP’s resilience against alleged false cases.
No response has been issued by the TDP. Reddy’s fiery remarks underscore YSRCP’s resolve to champion Andhra’s people amid escalating tensions with the ruling coalition.
