Union Minister Giriraj Singh on Friday criticised Lok Sabha Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi, accusing him of behaving like a tourist during a recent visit to the Makar Dwar at the Parliament House of India. Speaking to reporters outside Parliament, Singh alleged that the Congress leader was not taking the responsibilities of the Leader of the Opposition seriously. The remarks came after Gandhi was recently seen sharing tea with fellow Members of Parliament at Makar Dwar during a protest held within the Parliament premises.
The Union minister further claimed that Gandhi often speaks about foreign policy despite frequently travelling abroad. Singh also referenced the period of the COVID-19 pandemic, alleging that Gandhi had created confusion by raising questions about vaccination policies, including remarks related to vaccinating children.

Praising Narendra Modi, Singh said the Prime Minister worked to serve the country during the pandemic and ensured that vaccines were supplied not only to Indian citizens but also to other nations. He accused the Indian National Congress of spreading confusion and questioning India’s foreign policy approach.
Singh’s comments came a day after Gandhi raised concerns in the Lok Sabha about potential economic disruptions stemming from tensions in West Asia. Gandhi warned that the crisis could impact several sectors in India, including the hospitality industry, citing reports of LPG shortages affecting restaurants and street vendors.
During his remarks in Parliament, Gandhi said the ongoing geopolitical tensions involving the United States, Israel and Iran could have wide-ranging global consequences. He also questioned remarks attributed to Donald Trump regarding India’s oil purchases, asking how a third country could influence where India buys its energy supplies.
