Former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, branding him a “weak leader” amid mounting international challenges. Speaking in Jaipur on Wednesday, the senior Congress leader accused PM Modi’s leadership of leaving India diplomatically and politically isolated on the global stage.
Gehlot pointed to recent remarks by US President Donald Trump, who claimed to have mediated 30 ceasefires between India and Pakistan and made decisions against India’s trade interests. He criticized Modi for failing to directly address Trump’s provocative statements, questioning the prime minister’s silence. Gehlot further alleged that China and Pakistan are openly aligning against India, posing significant threats. While acknowledging the strength of India’s armed forces in responding to these challenges, he described Modi’s diplomatic efforts as a “failure.”
“Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who boasts of his ‘56-inch chest,’ is proving ineffective,” Gehlot said, intensifying his critique of Modi’s leadership style. The remarks come as political tensions rise, with Gehlot leveraging the opportunity to highlight perceived weaknesses in the current government’s foreign policy approach.
