Home Minister Amit Shah held a high-stakes meeting with Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla at his residence on Tuesday, as Parliament gears up to tackle a bombshell motion to remove Allahabad High Court judge Yashwant Varma, entangled in a suspected corruption scandal.

The dramatic move follows a notice submitted to Birla on Monday, backed by 152 MPs from various parties, as confirmed by Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju.

The plot thickened as the Rajya Sabha also admitted an opposition-sponsored motion for Varma’s removal, setting the stage for both Houses to collaborate on this unprecedented issue.

Government sources hint that the Lok Sabha will likely take the lead in piloting the motion. With tensions rising, this parliamentary showdown promises to shake the corridors of power.
