Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi are set to make waves in Assam today, engaging with party workers in a high-stakes visit. This marks their first trip since Gaurav Gogoi became state president, with the 2026 assembly elections looming large.
The duo will address two key meetings, including one in Chaygaon, roughly 40 km from Guwahati, to energize party functionaries. Gogoi revealed that district, block, and mandal leaders will share their insights with the top brass, aiming to strengthen the party’s grassroots.
In a post on X, Gogoi emphasized, “This visit underscores our unwavering commitment to justice, unity, and inclusive growth for Assam.” With elections on the horizon, all eyes are on Congress’s next move.
