Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) convener Abhijeet Dipke on Friday alleged a lack of synchronisation between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) over their approach towards Gen Z protests. He urged BJP leaders to follow RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat’s recent remarks, in which he said young protesters should not be labelled anti-national and that their concerns were genuine.

Dipke’s remarks came a day after Bhagwat interacted with Gen Z and Gen Alpha students in Mumbai. During the interaction, the RSS chief said that young people participating in protests were not against the country and that their issues needed to be understood. He also highlighted that the younger generation responds positively to appeals related to patriotism and public service.

Speaking to reporters in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Dipke said Bhagwat’s comments were significant as they acknowledged the right of citizens, including young people, to raise concerns. He criticised the language used by some BJP leaders during the CJP’s Jantar Mantar protest, claiming that protesters were earlier described using terms that he considered inappropriate.

Dipke appealed to BJP leaders to take note of Bhagwat’s views, stating that the RSS chief holds an important position within the broader ideological framework associated with the party. He said that if BJP leaders did not consider Bhagwat’s remarks, it would indicate differences between the two organisations.

The CJP convener further claimed that the contrasting statements from BJP and RSS leaders suggested disagreements over the handling of youth-led movements. He said the Gen Z and Gen Alpha generations should be engaged through dialogue rather than being dismissed for expressing their concerns.

Meanwhile, Dipke said the CJP intends to function as a pressure group by bringing people together on issues affecting the country and the youth, instead of focusing on political ideologies. He added that the Jantar Mantar protest showed that citizens could collectively raise issues and put pressure on the government when they united beyond political differences.
