The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Kerala unveiled a dynamic new team of state office-bearers under the leadership of state president Rajeev Chandrasekhar on Friday, signaling an aggressive push to expand its influence ahead of the 2026 local body and Assembly elections.
The revamped lineup features heavyweights M.T. Ramesh, Sobha Surendran, S. Suresh, and Anoop Antony as general secretaries, tasked with steering the party’s strategy in the state.
The list of 10 vice-presidents includes notable names like former DGP R. Sreelekha and Shaun George, son of former MLA P.C. George, alongside K.S. Radhakrishnan, C. Sadanandan Master, P. Sudheer, C. Krishnakumar, B. Gopalakrishnan, K. Soman, K.A. Aneesh Kumar, and Abdul Salam. E. Krishnadas was named the treasurer, while 10 secretaries were also appointed to bolster the party’s organizational strength.
The inclusion of Shaun George and Anoop Antony is seen as a strategic move to deepen the BJP’s outreach to Kerala’s Christian communities, a key demographic in the state. Since taking over from K. Surendran earlier this year, Chandrasekhar has been focused on reshaping the party’s image to appeal to a broader voter base.
