The BJP has launched a fierce counterattack against Rahul Gandhi after the Congress leader alleged that the Election Commission helped the ruling party rig the 2024 general elections. Calling his statements "irresponsible and shameless," BJP leaders said Gandhi has crossed all limits by questioning the integrity of India’s democratic institutions and insulting voters nationwide.

Rahul Gandhi earlier claimed that voter data from Karnataka's Bangalore Central constituency proved the BJP, with the help of the Election Commission, “stole” the election by manipulating voter lists. His dramatic accusations included claims of duplicate entries, fake addresses, and voter ID irregularities—charges that he said amounted to a "criminal fraud" against democracy.

Responding to the explosive allegations, senior BJP leader and former Union minister Ravi Shankar Prasad slammed Gandhi, accusing him of undermining India’s electoral process out of “frustration and anger.” Prasad said, “Rahul Gandhi has made irresponsible and shameless comments… He’s insulted the people of this country who voted for Modiji’s honesty and leadership.”

The BJP pointed out that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been winning elections consistently since 2015, and called Gandhi’s fraud allegations an indirect attack on millions of Indian voters. “If you call those victories fraudulent, you’re not just targeting the BJP—you’re insulting democracy itself,” Prasad said.

Taking a personal dig, Prasad added that Gandhi is frequently “roaming around for bail in defamation cases” and is in no position to question constitutional bodies like the EC. He warned that such reckless statements will only further alienate the Congress from the electorate.

As political temperatures rise, the BJP has made it clear that it views Rahul Gandhi’s comments as not just criticism but a direct attack on the democratic values of the nation. The party believes voters will continue to reject the Congress for what it describes as a pattern of baseless accusations and political immaturity.
