The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Maharashtra held a crucial strategy meeting of its former MPs and MLAs on Wednesday at its state headquarters in Mumbai, intensifying preparations for the upcoming local body elections, including the pivotal Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) polls slated for later this year. Under the leadership of state BJP president Ravindra Chavan, the session aimed to fortify the party’s organizational structure and ensure a robust campaign to secure victories across urban and rural constituencies.
As part of the strategy, each former parliamentarian and legislator has been assigned to adopt a party mandal (unit), focusing on strengthening grassroots engagement and mobilizing voters at the local level. The meeting featured a detailed district-wise review of the party’s organizational readiness, with discussions centered on booth-level mobilization, clear delineation of responsibilities for office-bearers, and the launch of targeted outreach campaigns.
The BJP emphasized energizing its cadre to maintain momentum and highlighted the importance of effectively communicating the benefits of central and state government welfare schemes to the electorate. With Maharashtra’s local elections poised to shape the state’s political landscape, the BJP’s proactive approach signals a determined bid to consolidate its influence and outmaneuver rivals.
