Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra delivered a scathing critique of Prime Minister Narendra Modi at a public rally in Sonabarsa, Saharsa district, sarcastically proposing the creation of an "Apmaan Mantralaya" (Ministry of Insults) to institutionalize what she described as the central government’s obsessive focus on accusing opposition leaders of disrespecting Bihar and national symbols, rather than confronting the NDA’s documented failures in governance, corruption, and developmental stagnation across the state. She argued that Modi’s repeated invocations of alleged slights—ranging from insults to "Chhathi Maiyya" to opposition toward the Ram temple—are deliberate distractions from pressing issues like administrative inefficiency, financial mismanagement, and the erosion of public trust under two decades of NDA rule.
Priyanka directly challenged the Prime Minister and Union Home Minister Amit Shah to provide a detailed account of tangible contributions made by the NDA to Bihar’s infrastructure, education, healthcare, and industrial growth over the past twenty years, instead of resorting to last-minute electoral announcements of financial doles and welfare schemes that lack long-term vision or implementation frameworks. She emphasized that such pre-poll promises ring hollow when juxtaposed against the persistent neglect of core developmental priorities, including flood management, agricultural modernization, and urban planning, which continue to leave millions of Biharis vulnerable to seasonal crises and economic exclusion.
The Congress leader reinforced her earlier assertion that Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s administration functions under direct remote control from New Delhi, with key policy decisions, bureaucratic appointments, and resource allocations dictated by central authorities rather than local needs or democratic consultation. She warned that this centralized overreach not only undermines Bihar’s constitutional autonomy but also threatens citizens’ fundamental right to free and fair voting, as electoral processes are increasingly influenced by external political strategies designed to consolidate power rather than empower local representation.

Priyanka highlighted the acute crisis of youth unemployment as a damning indictment of NDA governance, pointing out that Bihar’s young population is compelled to migrate en masse to other states in search of livelihood opportunities due to the systematic dismantling of public sector enterprises that once served as major employment generators. She accused the government of deliberately transferring vital PSUs—such as fertilizer plants, railway coach factories, and telecom units—to private corporations closely aligned with the BJP, thereby prioritizing corporate interests over public welfare and exacerbating regional disparities.
With Bihar heading into crucial assembly elections, Priyanka’s pointed rhetoric positions the Congress as the voice of accountability, framing Modi’s leadership as evasive and performative while contrasting it with a vision of decentralized, transparent, and job-centric governance. Her call for an "Apmaan Mantralaya" resonates as both political satire and a serious indictment, urging voters to reject narrative diversion and demand substantive answers on development, dignity, and democratic integrity.
