Union Home Minister Amit Shah unleashed a scathing attack on the Congress in the Rajya Sabha on Wednesday, accusing the party of “giving away” Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir (PoK) and vowing that only the BJP government will reclaim it. In a fiery speech addressing Operation Sindoor, Shah also rejected the Congress-coined term “Hindu terror,” declaring, “Hindus can never be terrorists.”
Shah slammed Congress for its “appeasement politics” and weak anti-terror policies, claiming they allowed terrorism to flourish. He highlighted the Modi government’s decisive actions, including the Balakot airstrike, surgical strikes, and Operations Sindoor and Mahadev, which neutralized three terrorists behind the April 22 Pahalgam attack. “Pakistan was brought to its knees,” Shah said, denying US President Donald Trump’s role in the India-Pakistan ceasefire.
The minister accused former Home Minister P Chidambaram of questioning Operation Sindoor’s legitimacy and supporting terrorists for vote banks. Shah detailed the government’s anti-terror measures, including destroying terror outfits’ headquarters, ending the Indus Water Treaty, and equipping the Army with advanced weaponry like BrahMos and Akash Teer missiles. He noted a 75% drop in insurgency and zero stone-pelting incidents in Jammu and Kashmir since 2024.

Shah also hailed the revocation of Article 370, stating it curbed Pakistan’s ability to fuel terrorism. “We hoisted the Indian Constitution’s flag in Kashmir,” he declared, predicting terrorism’s end in the region. The speech, which prompted an Opposition walkout demanding the Prime Minister’s response, underscored the BJP’s resolve to secure India’s interests.
